Warrawong High School Lyn Bailey - Friday, September 11, 2009
Today, I was privileged to have lunch with a group of Year 10 students from Warrawong High School http://www.warrawonghigh.nsw.edu.au/ . As a guest of the Beacon Foundation, http://www.beaconfoundation.net/. I sat down with 6 young Year 10 students. They did their teachers and their school proud. It was inspiring to hear these young people talk of their dreams, inspirations, passions and also of some of the issues and frustrations they face as they are on the threshhold of adulthood. Their lives today are so very different to what mine was at this age, yet they are facing it with a maturity beyond their years. I want to thank these young students for welcoming me into their group today and allowing me to share this experience with them. They have given me an insight into being a teenager today and have also created an awareness in me of the difficulties faced by 16 and 17 year olds today in our current community and society. Thank you, Jennifer, for allowing me to be part of this group. Thank you, students, for your wonderful company and friendship. I wish you all the best for the coming years as you embark on your path to becoming bright, successful adults.

Decision Lyn Bailey - Friday, September 04, 2009
Make the decision today to act differently. The only person who can make that decision is you. Until you act differently nothing changes. In the words of Will Rogers - "Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there." So go ahead, embrace that change and take massive action today. Do it now! As you sit there at your computer, reading these words on the screen, you know you can take your life in a new direction, don't you? Just act differently, NOW!

Embracing Change Lyn Bailey - Wednesday, September 02, 2009
Change both excites and terrifies us. It is exciting because it represents the unknown. It is terrifying because it will take us out of our comfort zone. The truth is that we need change to grow. If we do not change we stagnate. As babies, we went through massive change in order to learn to walk. Can you imagine how frightening it must be for a baby to constantly get up then fall over, again and again. Then imagine the excitement as, suddenly, he or she is able to stand up and take their first few steps. What new horizons and fronteirs open up for them at this point. Their whole life changes in a way that they could not even start to imagine. As adults, we have the same experiences as we take on new challenges and embrace the changes in our lives. It is often difficult to let go of the past. Just remember, until we let go of it, we are unable to pass through the door to a newer, brighter future.
So take the first step now. Polish up that goal that's sitting on the shelf because it terrifies you, and watch it sparkle and shine as you embrace the change you are about to make and get excited!!!!!!!!
Effective Goal Setting Lyn Bailey - Sunday, February 01, 2009
Before you can start any journey, you need a starting point and a destination. If you want to go on a trip overseas, you need to know your departure and arrival destinations. Only then can you start to work out the details, or strategies, of how you will make this happen. If you were to walk into the travel agent and ask to purchase a ticket overseas, the first question they would ask is "Where do you want to go?" and "From where will you be leaving?". Without the answers to these two fundamental questions, they will be unable to process your request. Seems logical, doesn't it? Yet, we continue to set goals and create dreams of what we want in life without ever having a clear picture of our current departure point or our future destination.
Take the dream "I want a new car". What is your starting point? Do you currently have a car? If so, shat sort of car do you currently drive? What is it currently worth? Will you use it as a trade in? How much can I afford to pay for a new one? What is my current financial situation? These are just some of the questions you will need to answer, before you start planning for you new car. So start thinking about your current dream. Start asking yourself questions so that you can get a clear picture of your starting point. Some Philosophical questions Glenn Davidson - Sunday, January 02, 2000
In business, it's often important to consider some deep questions about where you're going and what you're trying to achieve. But that can get tiring from time to time, so it's nice to think about some fun topics instead. For example, I routinely like to consider which came first, the chicken or the egg? I come up with a different answer every time, but the important thing is the reasoning behind it. Playing this with children is fun because it teaches them to come up with logic and reasoning rather than just guess. Another one is the age old "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it fall, does it really make a sound?" I think this one is just as bad as Schroedinger's cat, and just as loopy. But again, it's fun to consider it, isn't it? Welcome to my Blog! Glenn Davidson - Sunday, January 02, 2000
